Columbia University - Mr. Kelly has served Columbia University as an Industry Advisor, Principal Investigator, Project Manager, and Grant Writer.

In 2008, Mayor Bloomberg convened the NYC Green Codes Task Force.
Mr. Kelly was honored to serve as the Structure Commitee Chair and authored several key provisions of the new code.
Provisions included those that addressed coastal flooding and sea level rise, provisions relating to recycling of building materials, and sections on green concrete and other sustainable material technologies.

This academic + industry collaboration was formed in to pursue Novel Technologies which will enhance the resilience and sustainability of our built environment.
As one of the founding members of The Cooper Union Institue for Sustainable Design in New York City, Mr. Kelly served as an Industry Advisor, and as an Instructor, teaching courses on Green Building Renovations and Sustainable Design.
Mr. Kelly also wrote grants for Green Building Projects and Novel Power Generation Systems.
